Plot

Samuel Peters (Edward Furlong) once an ordinary man, dabbles within the laws of voodoo to bring his wife back from the grave, he soon encounters the God of malevolence, Kalfu (Corey Feldman), where he makes a pact with him to destroy the underworld and bring chaos to earth; in return he will become ‘The Zombie King’ and walk the earth for eternity with his late wife.

Seven days before the rise of the Dark Moon, Peters calls upon Kalfu to raise seven people who have recently departed, where their souls must be held on earth for seven days.

With the ever growing horde of zombies, they begin to completely wipe out a countryside town. Once the Government get wind of what is going on, they set a perimeter around the town area and employ a shoot on sight policy.

Trapped within the town, the locals and unlikely bunch of misfits fight for their lives, and the remaining humans soon realise that they have to unite in order to survive.

Seeking sanctuary in a local church, they discover a bizarre disturbed priest where he gives them the knowledge of ‘The Zombie King’.

Production

Pre-production

The idea to make a zombie feature film emerged when Jennifer Chippindale and Rebecca-Claire Evans meet on a film set in late August 2011. Both girls shared the same passion towards film making and within a week of meeting, they formed their own company Northern Girl Productions, with the ambition to make a film.

The script was originally written as a spoof comedy under the working title Ed Wallace and the Z Team. The humour in this script was light, almost slapstick, but it soon took a very different, darker, direction when the character the Zombie King was introduced. He dabbles in the dark art of Haitian Vodou and, with further research on this topic, the story soon reached even darker heights.

By October 2011, the production company had gained the interest of two high-profile US actors and secured the film finance.

Production

The film will go into production in November 2011[4] and will be shot over 21 days.
